20-27 April, 2016, Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunications Union Study Group 5 (ITU-T SG5) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the meeting, the “standards on evaluating the sustainable development goals of smart city” proposed by a Chinese Co. was accepted, marking the 4th smart city standards proposal at ITU-T, adding to the previously passed ITU-T L.1600, L.1601 and L.1602, all contributed by their lead author Dr. Sang Ziqin, member of the State Key Laboratory of Corporation.
