The 16th China Green
Food Expo was successfully held in Xi’an, Shaanxi province from October 29th to
November 1st, 2015. The theme of the expo was Meeting at the starting point of
Silk Road and opening a new green chapter. With dedicated design of exhibition
areas and activities, the expo provided a fantastic show of green food industry
achievements in five northwestern provinces and autonomous regions along the
ancient Silk Road (Shaanxi, Qinghai, Ningxia, Gansu and Xinjiang).
The expo covered an
area of 28,000 square meters, attracting 1,708 enterprises with 914 booths. It
displayed a good variety of exhibition items including grain, oil, fruit,
vegetable, livestock, poultry, aquatic, dairy products, as well as teas and
beverages.
The trade value of
the expo hit 2.386 bln yuan and the agreements of intent for cooperation valued
3.754 bln yuan, up by 32.7% and 49.16% respectively over last year.
Since it was first
held in 1990, the China Green Food Exposition has become China’s largest green
food trade fair. The expo became an annual event in 2009 after being ratified by
MOA.
